With only 11 days until advance voting begins on Monday 2 October, and with overseas voting open in less than a week from Wednesday 27 September, we are not far now from making an important choice about the future of our country. My local Pakuranga team and I have been hard at work campaigning around the electorate, knocking on thousands of doors, delivering flyers and letters to every household, and meeting as many of you as possible so that we can elect a National Party government to get New Zealand back on track.

Launching our campaign in Pakuranga

Last weekend, I was excited to launch our local National Party campaign in Pakuranga to change the government. It was great to see so many of you come along to support the National Party and myself as your local candidate for re-election to get our country back on track. A big thank you to my friend and colleague Mark Mitchell for coming out to help launch our campaign, and to all of you who took away some letters to deliver following the event.

We all know what is at stake this election. Perhaps more than any election in recent memory, this year's election will shape the future of our country and the path we want to follow. It has become clear over the course of the campaign period that National is the only party with a real plan to grow our economy, restore law and order, provide our children with a world class education, ensure our health system is equipped to take care of us, and invest in the infrastructure we so desperately need. You need only watch the first Leaders Debate between Chris Luxon and Chris Hipkins earlier this week to see the difference between National's aspirational plan and Labour's lack of ideas.

Voting places in Pakuranga

With only 11 days until advance voting begins, I wanted to let you know where our local voting places will be in Pakuranga. For a full list of voting booths during advance voting and on election day, please click here to visit the vote.nz website.

There will be six locations open for voting during the entire advance voting period, which runs from Monday 2 October to Friday 13 October:

• Fencible AFC Clubrooms, William Green Domain, 590 Pakuranga Road, Highland Park
• Highland Park Library, 16 Highland Park Drive, Highland Park
• Howick Library, Fencible Room, 25 Uxbridge Road, Howick
• Pakuranga Plaza, opposite Bargain Chemist, 10 Aylesbury Street, Pakuranga
• Trinity Methodist Church Hall, 474 Pakuranga Road, Pakuranga
• EKFS Pakuranga, CCC of Samoa, 229 Ti Rakau Drive, Pakuranga

In addition to these, the Auckland Taiwanese Presbyterian Church at 158 Pakuranga Road will be open as an advance voting place on each Friday and Saturday during the advance voting period, and if you reside in one of the Pakuranga Park Village (Mon 9 Oct), Highlands Village Metlifecare (Tues 10 Oct), or Edgewater Village Metlifecare (Wed 11 Oct) retirement villages there will be dedicated advance voting days as listed in brackets.

If you plan to vote on election day, Saturday 14 October, there will be 24 locations across Pakuranga including the locations used for advance voting above. Please be sure to check the website with the link here again before casting an advance vote as each location has slightly different opening hours. On election day though, each voting booth will be open from 9:00am to 7:00pm.

Volunteer for our campaign in Pakuranga

Many of you will have seen a letter in your mailbox this week from me explaining why I think a National government is the best option for New Zealand this election, and why I hope to be re-elected as your local MP for Pakuranga. This letter has been delivered with the help of our incredible volunteers, but we still have some streets around the electorate that are yet to receive one and some other activities we need help with.

The three main tasks we need help with over the last few weeks of the campaign are:

1. Delivering letters and pamphlets around the electorate.
2. Scrutineers at voting booths during the advance voting period and on election day.
3. Waving signs with our team during busy traffic hours.
