As major arterial roads in East Auckland, Pakuranga Road, Ti Irirangi Drive, and Ti Rakau Road carry tens of thousands of vehicles a day and Auckland Transport’s recent decision to reduce the speed limit on these roads has only increased the amount of congestion for people moving in and out of the area.

Auckland Transport will soon be proposing more speed limit changes across Auckland, including more speed limit reductions.

Sign this petition to call on Auckland Transport to reinstate the speed limit on these major arterial roads as part of this speed management plan and to say no to Auckland Transport continuing with blanket speed limit reductions across Auckland.

The Howick Local Board recently passed a resolution in support of the restoration of previous limits on these main arterials, so it is clear there is strong community opposition to these reductions.

We need better roads not slower roads, which help Aucklanders move quickly and safely around our city.
